Artsmart: the edible art tour is coming on June 8th and 9th from 5 to 8. This is a fun event where restaurants and galleries come together to help provide funding for art courses in Santa Fe Public School. After paying $35, you receive a button then you can visit different art galleries where food is served throughout Santa Fe. Artsmart is the website for further details.
Next week in the beautiful city of Santa Fe, Liquid Muse is presenting: Cocktails & Culture, a Culinary Festival. On June 1 the festivities start with a Taco War from 6-9pm. Saturday has a mind, body spirit yoga class, interactive mixology seminars, ending with a chef and shaker challenge from 7 to 10pm. Sunday’s events include a fundraising bike ride and a bloody battle and cocktail brunch. This sounds very interesting. I happened to hear a radio interview with the Liquid Muse on KBAC our local radio. For more information check out the website: Cocktails & Culture.
I am looking forward to the Food Truck Event this weekend in Santa Fe. On Sunday from 11-3 several food trucks will be at the old County Courthouse parking lot. The following food trucks are scheduled to appear: Back Road Pizza, Car-Ma Kocina, Palate, Power 5 BBQ, and Santafamous Street Eats.
According to the Santa Fe Reporter: a Food Truck Event is scheduled for May 27th directly across from the Santa Fe Convention Center. Details to follow.
I’d like to welcome Chef Allison to Arroyo Vino. We are looking forward to tasting your food.
There is a new plan for MoGro. There now is a sliding scale which is more equitable in order to pay for your share of food. The new process is outlined on their website. There will also be no more boxes, instead there will be bags. We are excited about these improvements.
Total Wine & More did open on Thursday April 26th. We met a very knowledgeable wine salesperson named Jon. He helped my better half pick out some fine looking wines while I strolled over to the beer section.
Ok, today Monday April 23, 2018, I checked the sign at the corner of Rancho Viejo Rd and Bisbee Ct. Tumbleroot Brewing stated on their sign that they were open from 12 to 10pm. I got there at 1:30 and they were closed. A guy at Tumbleroot said that their bartender quit and I could go to their Agua Fria location.
I can understand a person leaving, that happens, but I do not understand not changing your signage to reflect this change. Your bad Tumbleroot.
Thank you for finally changing your sign to Open Daily. We checked again and the Tumbleroot Tasting Room was open on Wednesday April 25 from 4 to 10 pm.
There were several signs posted around Santa Fe Community College about Diversity Day’s Indian Taco and Frybread Sale from the SFCC Culinary Arts Program on Monday April 23:
I also saw a sign for Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery on Bisbee Ct. The tasting room has open. I will check this out soon. I know that Tumbleroot has a location on Agua Fria St. in Santa Fe. We will check out that location too.
April 26 is Kitchen Angel’s night to eat out at various restaurants throughout Santa Fe. The participating restaurants give 25% of your check to support Kitchen Angel’s.
Yes!! Total Wine & More is opening in Santa Fe on April 26th. This is the store that my Uncle took us to while we were in Florida to visit him. He said it was a must see store. He was right. It was the biggest liquor store I had ever been in.
I am waiting for Bear Creek Brewing Company to open. Thanks to New Mexico Darkside Brew Crew for keeping us updated.
I am also waiting for Honeymoon Brewery to open…
On a totally unrelated food note, I have to mention that The Screen is closing on April 30, 2018. I hope this is only temporary. The Screen is a wonderful cinema. It shows interesting movies and has an incredible sound system.
Paper Dosa’s Spring Menu has arrived. It is now truly Spring. The winds have also arrived. Personally, I appreciate the Paper Dosa’s Spring Menu more.
Ok, I wish the best of luck to Chef Colin Shane formerly of Arroyo Vino Restaurant . I enjoyed your food immensely. Your family night meals were inspired. We would take our out-of-town friends to Arroyo Vino to impress them with your culinary skills. And they were impressed. I will greatly miss you and Lauren, your wife and the person who made growing my own kale possible. Good luck to you both!
