The last time I was at Toltec Brewing, I just had a beer. This time I made sure I came for lunch.
I am always a sucker for a hot pretzel. Toltec Brewing’s menu said that their pretzel was giant. Right.
The pretzel was huge(10). It is the biggest pretzel I have ever had. Good thing there were a couple of us for lunch. The pretzel was fresh baked and boy was it hot. That’s ok. I had some water before having a beer. The pretzel came with Alpine Swiss cheese sauce with house-made mustard. This was incredible mustard, I think there was some horseradish in with the ground mustard seed. Wow! That was so delicious. It was amazing.

I chose the three tacos clasicos(9) for my entree. The tacos were served on a white corn tortilla with fresh pico de gallo with a spicy side salsa along with a lime slice. I really liked the lime slice, it classed up my taco. Of course, I got the calabacitas and added some black beans(1). I thought this was a wonderful lunch

Our friend had the delicious Classic Burger(12) which you could also have as an Impossible Burger. After the huge pretzel, I was very glad I just had the tacos. I was filled.

I put these wonderfully cooked back beans on my tacos. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo before I ate the tacos with the beans. I was hungry. This is a good place to get a good beer and some good food.
I did sample the beer which was very tasty. I think the brewer was from Bath Tub Row in Los Alamos. I have always liked his beer. Yes, enough to travel up to Los Alamos to check it out. Now I just have to drive to Albuquerque. Toltec Brewing is nothing fancy but it has good food with some excellent beer. I intend to come back and check out the Impossible Burger with a beer next time.
Our server was taking good care of us. He was busy serving the last of the lunch crowd by himself. He did a great job.
Toltec does have a Happy Hour from 3-6 with a dollar off all beers. You can join the Mug Club for 35 dollars a year and add a spouse or friend for 15 dollars.
Toltec Brewing is located at 10250 Cottonwood Park NW. Their phone number is 505.89-1455.
