As you know, previously, we went to the New York Deli and had sandwiches. This time I decided to check out the New York style bagels. I judge a deli by their bagels. Since I am looking for some chewy bagels which happens to be a New York style, New York Deli sounded like the place to go.
If you order your bagels ahead of time, you will be assured that you get the bagels you want. New York Deli is a very busy place. A dozen bagels are 16.68. There are several flavors to choose from like plain, onion, blueberry, cinnamon raisin, pumpernickel, sun-dried tomato herb, poppy sesame, everything whole wheat with sesame, and my personal favorite, green chile.
The bagels are wonderfully chewy. The tangy, hot burn of green chile was a wonderful welcome addition to any bagel. There was enough heat to know that something incredible was going on, but not enough heat to turn off people from trying this bagel.
You can also buy just a bagel with butter(2.45), or a bagel with plain cream cheese(2.95), a bagel with a flavored cream cheese(3.5) or with Nova spread(4.50). Nova spread is smoked salmon.
You also have all kinds of choices of cream cheese. New York Deli has plain, plain light, scallion, green chile, jalapeño, Nova spread, very berry, honey walnut, veggie, and garlic. You also have your choice of cream cheese spread. We chose the number 3 size. (3.00 plus tax for plain, 4.50 for flavored).
So I had a green chile bagel with green chile cream cheese spread. What a wonderful treat for breakfast. This combination was truly delightful. The green chile cream cheese was just as flavorful as the green chile bagel. As with the bagel, the green chile cream cheese has bits of green chile blended into it.
As you can see, there are a lot of green chile pieces in the green chile cream cheese. Yummy!

I really like these bagels. Next time I might try a different bagel and cream cheese. Maybe…
