I was so impressed with the food at Tujuh Maret. This is the first time I have ever tried Indonesian food. I have been missing out on a wonderful cuisine.
We had the vegetarian rice plate which had all the vegetarian dishes of Tujuh Maret.
First of all, the tastes were varied and incredible. To start we had the vegetarian satay. It had tofu, eggplant, and onion. The sauce was coconut. It was equally delicious. We had a bowl of white rice and a bowl of yellow rice. The yellow rice contained tumeric. Tumeric is one of my favorite spices.
The food was placed on heating racks to keep it warm. This was very helpful to keep the temperature consistent. I thought this was an extra added touch that greatly enhanced our meal.
There was a cauliflower and carrot dish, a green bean dish, a tofu dish, an eggplant, and many others
I appreciated the subtly of the spices. Most of the food wasn’t too hot / spicy.
The service was attentive but not intrusive. There was an extensive selection of meat and fish dishes as well. But I was very impressed with our selection. To accompany this vegetable feast we had an ice cold Heineken. It seemed fitting since the day was quite warm.
