We were at the Santa Fe Plaza to see Marcia Ball on Thursday night. We stopped by Tres Colores’ new location on Marcy Street. Tres Colores also has a location in the Santa Fe Fashion Outlet south of town. The Tres Colores location has been closed at the Santa Fe Fashion Outlet. Sorry
We wanted to get some carry out food. We decided to get burritos because they would be easy to handle. Lucky for us it was also Burrito Thursday, so for 7 dollars, we got a good size burrito stuffed with rice and vegetables. Of course, we had the vegetarian version with calabacitas (squash). Our vegetarian burrito had a nice and soft flour tortilla with pinto beans, rice, red and green chile (Christmas) pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole. It was absolutely delicious. There was a small salad bar type for extras you can add like hot sauce or more rice. We were pleased with what we received so there was no need for additions. We decided to have sparkling water to drink because it was so hot that day but there was a delightful selection of beverages like Mexican coke and Agua frescas in a refrigerated case. The choice of burrito fillings include: carne asada, grilled chicken, calabacitas or squash blossoms when squash blossoms are available.
Salads were also available with mixed greens with balsamic dressing, carrots, cucumber, and tomato. Home-made guacamole was available, too.
Weekly Specials include Taco Tuesday (7), Fajita Wednesday (7.50), and Burrito Thursday (7).
Tres Colores is open until 7pm. The prices are a little cheaper at this location than at the Santa Fe Fashion Outlet Mall location. It was a good deal with very good food.
