Dion’s Santa Fe Southside

Ok, I was so excited when Dion’s came to Santa Fe. But I never visited that particular store. There is now a Dion’s on the Southside of town. It is on Promenade Blvd which is close to the Taco Bell and McDonalds. Dion’s is a small New Mexican chain of Pizza restaurants. Some refer to Dion’s as a restaurant chain that sells incredible ranch dressing and pizza. I have never had the ranch dressing so I can’t say that. What I can say is that I have liked this chain since the late 80s. It is consistent and convenient. The pizza is very good.
I like how Dion’s has adapted to the app age. I was able to order my pizzas online and pick them up at the drive through window. Talk about convenience. I put their app on my phone so I can order on the go.
On this particular visit, I ordered the Santorini (14 inches)with green chile (add $1.60 for the entire pizza to be covered with green chile). The Santorini was a delicious combination of Provolone, feta, spinach, Kalamata olives, tomatoes, bell peppers, red onions, basil & Parmesan ($15.85)But I alway need a little green chile to add some zing to my pizzas. I also ordered The Veggie (14 inches) which had mushrooms, green chile, red onions, black olives, bell peppers & tomatoes. ($16.85).

I loved both! The crust was light and crunchy. There was enough sauce and cheese to enjoy. The star was the vegetables. All were fresh and delicious!

The pizzas were better than I remembered! The service was prompt and professional. I really enjoy that I can set up a time to pick up my pizzas. That is a real improvement!
Ok, my favorite pizza truck, Bruno’s has moved to the Meow Wolf parking lot on Wednesday afternoons 11:30 to 1:30. I don’t get up there as often as I do the Southside of town.
