SmallCakes has the best cupcakes! I am so glad that I live outside of Santa Fe and that SmallCakes is in Albuquerque. I love this place. I haven’t been there in years but their cupcake quality is still fabulous. SmallCakes appeared in the cupcake boom. I was so glad that I had moved away from Albuquerque because I would live at Small Cakes. Seriously, SmallCakes is that good. So I am glad that I will not gain weight from SmallCakes or get diabetes. I have a hard time controlling my inner kid when I am close to this place. So I guess that everything works out for the best.

However, I did show some restraint when we arrived in Albuquerque last Thursday. Little did I know that the Thursday’s special cupcake(3.95) was German Chocolate. I only had 2 cupcakes. I didn’t fill up a box of 12 cupcakes(a deal at 39 dollars). Maybe next time…
The two cupcakes that I did purchase were the Chocolate Cream and the above mentioned German Chocolate. Wow!! There were other contenders for my heart and stomach but these two won. There will be a next time.
The Chocolate Cream reminded me of my favorite snack, a Hostess Chocolate Cup Cake only better. Wow! The ingredients were really upscale to that chocolate snack. The chocolate was incredible. The devils’ food chocolate was so moist. But the buttercream filling was the bomb. Oh my, what a tasty surprise. This cupcake made it to the car. Yes, it was messy, but boy was it worth it.

OMG!!! I was in chocolate heaven. It was enough sweet for the rest of the day. It was so incredible. I just loved it.
Eventually, I had the German Chocolate cupcake which was moist and enough chocolate to make my heart beat. German Chocolate is the Thursday flavor of the month. I heard that the Caramel Crunch, with the pretzel on top was delicious as well.
We decided to just get six. We were sharing with a friend so we each got 2 deliciously large cup- cakes. SmallCakes also has those mini cupcakes (33 for a dozen or 20 for a half dozen) as well as cookies.
SmallCakes also has their own ice cream. We took a pass on the ice cream because it had snowed earlier in the week. Really, snow in New Mexico in October…
