A good friend of mine told me about Gayatri. I forgot about this recommendation until I saw a wonderful article about Gayatri in the Santa Fe New Mexican. So I decided to check out this vegan meal delivery. Since I do not live in town, I was able to pick up my meals. I was intrigued with the idea of getting vegan Indian food. Only 50 orders are taken each week. You can call or text your order at (505) 310-1420. The menu changes every week. Thursday was the designated day we picked up our order that I had texted in to Gayatri. Several cars pulled up around 11:30 pick up time. (You can also pick up your meal at 4). After the 11:30 time, orders are delivered in town. You can make arrangements to have your meal delivered in town in the South Capital area and a 5 mile radius from there.
The food is vegan, gluten-free, organic, and infused with Sacred Vedic Mantra. I thought this would be like a mobile Annapurna.
The meal included Aloo Gobi Matar which is a onion-tomato based curry that contained cauliflower, peas, potato’s and Indian spices.
A container held the Jeera Rice, a Basmati rice dish with cumin. The Black Chana Chaat Salad had chickpeas, and carrots with chaat masala.
Dessert was also included. It was a semolina crumble with cranberries, almond and pistachio sprinkled on top.
Gayatri uses 100% biodegradable packaging. That was impressive. There is a sliding scale pricing 18 to 20 dollars for the meal of the day. Payments included cash, check, or Venmo.
This is a Mom and Pop operation. I wish them luck.

This was the worst (any kind) of Food and the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. Actually there were No flavors of India in any of the food in my order. The portions were also tiny.
