Bow & Arrow Brewing and Picnicnm, Abq

Since we were headed to Albuquerque on Friday, I decided to check out Bow and Arrow Brewing’s website. I saw that I could order a happy hour plate from Picnicnm. I had read about Picnicnm in the Santa Fe Reporter. The glowing article included a delicious looking photo. This photo made me want to buy a happy hour plate. The owner of Picnicnm had previously worked for the now closed but still beloved Cheesemonger in Santa Fe. A few years ago we had ordered a large cheese plate from the Cheesemonger. It was the highlight of our party.
I emailed on Thursday night for a Friday pickup at Bow and Arrow. I was delighted when I received a quick reply that my order was accepted. Yes, they were happy to make accommodations and make the plate meatless. The email informed me that I could pay online by Square. Great! Everything was set. I was to pick up my happy hour plate between 3 and 10 on Friday.

Fast forward to Friday, we arrived at Bow and Arrow. Before we were even seated the server inquired about a happy hour plate. She retrieved it for us before we ordered our beers.

I thought what could be better than some incredible cheese and a great beer on a sunny Friday afternoon.
The happy hour plate was actually a small box which was beautiful but I thought it was kind of small for 25 dollars. Maybe it is just me but the box was 5 1/2 by 7 1/2. Yes, it was filled with interesting items. I did receive a small bag of round crackers, like large Cheerios. but I was disappointed. Here is a photo of the happy hour plate:

What I really came to Bow & Arrow was for the sour beer. Bow & Arrow has a wonderful selection of sour beers. We decided to buy a flight of four. Each 5 oz beer was priced individually. I picked the Strawberry Amigo(4)Savage Times(3), Desert Revival BlackBerry Sour (4.50), and the Anatomy of an Arrow Golden Sour(4.50). All of these beers were very tasty. My particular favorite was the Desert Revival Blackberry.

We enjoyed sitting outside drinking our flight. It was a beautiful day. Our server was attentive but not intrusive.

I was so glad we were able to enjoy a beer and a sunny day.
