Once again we found ourselves headed to Sawmill Market in Albuquerque. This time I was in search of something different to eat. Since it was a Friday, I decided that I would actually have some fish. Yes, I occasionally have fish. There was a large crowd at Salty Catch, so I thought it was a good bet. Yes, a Friday during lent. This was a good sign. There was a crowd which was also a good sign. According to my reasoning, the fish would be frozen but fresh. I mean we live in a desert. There was a high turn over of customers at the small stand. I wasn’t wrong. The Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich was my choice for dinner (11.75 plus tax)which turned out to be 12.68. Since, I came after the big rush for dinner, my sandwich came out very quickly. I was still given a buzzer device to let me know when my sandwich was ready.

Wow! I was really impressed with the hot sauce and the remoulade sauce on my sandwich. Yes, they gave me enough ketchup for the entire box of fries. I didn’t know that I was getting fries so this was a pleasant surprise.
Another surprise that was not that pleasant was that the tails were still on the shrimp. What??? I have never had a shrimp po boy with tails on my shrimp. The above photo was taken after the tails were removed.
After the sandwich was cut in half, there were 2 good sized shrimp in each half. The breading wasn’t greasy. The shrimp were nice and plump. The tomato and lettuce added to the entire combination. The shrimp and the sauces were the stars! I didn’t have to put any Tabasco sauce on my sandwich.

I would highly recommend this sandwich even with the tails. The service was quick. I got a peek at my po boy before the young lady closed up the takeout box. I thought that was a nice touch.
