We hadn’t been to Paloma in a very long time. The last time we were there it was winter and I had to wear my jacket to get warm. I thought things would be much nicer on the patio in the summer. Paloma has a very nice patio in the back of the restaurant. There is also a bar located there as well.
This is the gorgeous looking oyster mushrooms en mole amarillo(26). It was truly a sight to behold. The oyster mushrooms were roasted with grilled onions, black bean refritos(refried beans) and blue corn chochoyotes (masa dumpling).

It was very nicely plated as well. For my taste, this dish didn’t have an interesting mole. The mole was kind of bland.
I lucked out by having the most interesting item from the menu, the cauliflower tacos(13 for 2 tacos). These tacos were very interesting. The cauliflower was cooked just right. It was delicious. The combination of golden raisins and green olives was inspired. The tacos were topped with a delightful almond salsa. The tacos also are served with two salsas, a red and a green. Since, I forgot to ask what kind of salsas we received all I know was that one was red and the other was green. I shared the salsas with one of our dinner companions who also had an order of tacos. These salsas were also kind of bland. Once again, I am a lover of very spicy food. There is always a bottle of hot sauce on our dining room table. Just me.

Along with the food menu, there is an extensive cocktail and drink menu. There is also a special tequila menu as well as a mezcal menu.

Even though it was a Wednesday night, it was a good thing that we had reservations. The place was getting crowded when we were asked to leave our table. The hostess asked us to leave for a 7 pm reservation at our table. We were almost finished with our 5:30 reservation. We ended up finishing up our conversation out in front of the restaurant.
