Plant Base Cafe is located on Vegas Verdes Road on the west side of Route 14 or Cerrillos Road. Cerrillos Road is a street that I seem to constantly drive. I have wanted to check out this restaurant for a long time. I was never in that area at the times that it was open. However, Plant Base Cafe has new hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 4pm-8pm. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Plant Base Cafe is open from 11am-8pm. They are closed on Tuesday. Their website states that Plant Base Cafe is 100% Vegan, 100% Plant Based, 100% Gluten-Free, 100% Soy-Free, 100% Organic, and free of refined sugar. Wow! That really sounded interesting.

The menu is broken up into sections: Breakfast, Plant Base Mexican, Plant Base Italian, Plant Base American, and Plant Base Dessert. After checking out the menu, we decided to order the Italian lasagna of the week(16) with Gluten-free pasta, pasta sauce, Italian protein of the week which was Impossible burger meatballs, veggie mix of the week and lots of cheese. So this order was vegan, gluten-free, and soy free. You also receive a side salad included in the price of your entree. The side salad choices were Blue cheese wedge, Parmesan Arugula, and a Caesar.

The Italian Lasagna came with tiny Impossible meat balls inside. I chose a great Cesar salad that had croutons and a lot of vegan cheese on top. I wasn’t so sure about the dressing so I didn’t eat it. Just me. The salad was large and filled the entire side of the take-out box. It was nicely chopped up.

I was pleased that my order of Italian Lasagna with a Cesar salad and a Mexican Lasagna(16) with an arugula and Parmesan salad(16) was ready by the time I arrived at Plant Base Cafe.
The Mexican lasagna had a layer of sauteed corn tortillas, enchilada sauce(Christmas), rice, refried beans, a layer of vegan cheese, another layer of sauteed corn tortillas, enchilada sauce, and a side of guacamole with a sliced avocado our choice of an arugula and Parmesan Salad. Its beans were a nice surprise. They were very tasty as was the guacamole.

I joined the VIP club(free) and received an offer for 10% off my first online order. You are notified before you place your online order that you may incur a fee for ordering online. I bypassed this online fee (I think it was about 55 Cents) by calling in my order at 505.365.2556.
You can also have your food delivered to you from DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, and Dashing Delivery. Since I was in town I bypassed all of the above.

The Santa Fe Asian Market finally opened on 1644 St. Michael’s Drive in Santa Fe. The Market is open 9am-8pm everyday except Sunday. On Sunday they are closed. Their phone number is 505.954-1816
Vegos Vegan Restaurant is now open for Breakfast and Dinner. You still can order online.

Finally Dion’s (Pizza and More) has added a brand new flavor of salad dressing this week. We now can choose from Green Chile Ranch, Ranch, and the brand New Chipotle Ranch. So many Ranch dressings…
Los Dogos and More now has a brick and mortar drive-through restaurant instead of a food truck. I have always been interested in the food truck on Cerrillos Road but figured that it was not vegetarian friendly. From seaching the web Los Dogos and More serves a salchicha con tocino(a sausage wrapped in bacon). They are currently located at 2207 Cerrillos and are open from 7am-8pm Monday,Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday 10am-8pm. Ok, another website had different times. So I would call ahead at 505.455.6147 to check.
