A good friend invited us out to lunch. This is the first time I had been to Pizzeria Espiritu. I think I have driven by there numerous times. I just never thought to go in which is weird because I really miss Italian food. I am always looking for simple Italian food not fussy or fancy or even expensive, just good food.
Since the place is named Pizzeria Espiritu, I thought that I would try the pizza. Why not? I love pizza. But first we started with some garlic bread and a marinara sauce(7.59). Both were delicious and hard to resist. I was really trying to save room for my lunch choice, a pizza.
The bread was so very tasty with enough garlic and butter to make it authentic and delicious. I also enjoyed the marinara sauce. It was delicious as well. What a good start!
I had the lunch special Greek pizza(11.95). I thought I would try something totally different and it was. It was a wonderful version of a combination of cultures. The Greek Pie was 10 inches filled with olive oil, tomato sauce, Kalamata olives, red onion, spinach, feta and mozzarella cheese. Since I had the lunch special it cost 11.95 instead of 12.49. It was well worth the price. It was a delicious assortment of all the toppings that I enjoy.
Wow! All this pizza needed was some red pepper flakes and some hot sauce. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. I really enjoyed it!
My friends had the highly recommended Chipotle Alfredo Pasta(13.95 plus 1.95)with your choice of pasta noodle. One friend had the fettuccine as her pasta choice, and the other had the spaghetti, which also tasted as good as it looked. This pasta had a nice kick to it. Something that you usually do not get with an alfredo pasta sauce.
Pizzeria Espiritu’s lunch specials are til 4. More and more people came in around 12. We were a little early because we are still not comfortable about eating inside busy restaurants. Just me. We were masked as was the delightful server. The tables are still stacked up for outside eating. So patio dining will probably be an option soon.
