We were on our way to Tikka Spice in Albuquerque. Unfortunately, we were very early. The new brick and mortar business of the highly recommended food truck wasn’t open until 4pm. So 1:30 was a bit early. Tikka Spice is located right next to the Salt Yard East on Osuna. Luckily, we spotted Enchanted Circle Brewing on San Mateo NE. Since this location opened in 2019 we hadn’t been. Their original location is in Angel Fire, NM. We haven’t been there either. It was close to Osuna so there we were.

I liked the idea of weekly specials. We happened to be at Enchanted Circle on a Thursday and the Thursday special was a steak dinner. Great for two vegetarians. But if you are into meat, it sounded like a good deal. In fact, several people were having the 1/2lb Ribeye with mashed potatoes and green beans. This price is for dine in customers only. Thank the

I like a neighborhood bar than has events and specials, even though I wasn’t interested in the steak or martini special(5). Ok, I admit it, I am a light weight when it comes to martinis in the afternoon. It is simply not happening. Maybe in the evening but doubtful even then. Just me.

She immediately suggested a house made black bean burger. It was really hot so all we had were starters and a beer.

I ordered the nachos(9) without meat. The chips were covered with green chile cheese sauce so there was enough cheese to land on most of the chips. The sauce was also delicious! The lettuce was crisp and really added to the taste of the nachos. The tomatoes and black beans were worthy additions to this delicious concoction. You were given a small cup of jalapenos so you could place them.

I wanted to try the green chile cheese fries(10) as well. Rainie, our server advised us to only order a 1/2 portion. Ok, I usually follow recommendation. I was glad I did. This was an incredible version of cheese fries. The fries themselves were perfectly fried. The green chile cheese sauce was incredible. The sprinkle of cheese on top made this dish something special. I love their attention to detail. The portion size of both the nachos and the cheese fries was much bigger than I expected. Thanks, Rainie. You were correct. As it was, we ended up taking some of both dishes home.
After all this was a brewery. You have to have a beer. I learned from Nutrition class always to order a glass of water with your alcoholic drinks. Remember to drink it. Ok, the
I know that nutrition class would have wanted me to order a salad instead of the cheese fries. Sorry, I can’t do that in a brewery. You need bar food in a brewery, not a salad.

I had the Raspberry Alley Sour. You could actually taste the raspberry and it was tart. My better half had the Michelada(6) made with lager, which looked fabulous. I am not a fan. I was told this was one of the best tasting Micheladas. Good to know
Rainie, our wait person, added to our dining experience. She was enthusiastic and helpful. She gave constructive tips that we greatly appreciated. She was a breath of fresh air because she was very service orientated. Rainie made this a very pleasurable time.

The menu online that I accessed was not current. We looked at Enchanted Circle Brewery and they said there was a hummus platter(9.95). There wasn’t. There were gator po-boys also listed and they were not on the menu either. What we received was so much better than what I expected. We will return.
