We hadn’t been to The Hollar in a long time so we decided to do take out there. This time I tried their Shrimp Po’ Boy(15.85). The online menu isn’t up-to-date. The Shrimp Po’ Boy is listed at 14.35. We didn’t know that a side was also included in this price which is why I received fried okra as my side.
We had ordered a side of fried okra so we both got okra with a delicious sauce to dip the okra in. The bun was soft and delicious. It was described as a hoagie roll on the receipt. There was also a very tasty cole slaw that next time I am going to order as my side.
Ok, New Mexico this is the second time that I have received a shrimp po’ boy with shrimp tails on my sandwich. What is the deal? I understand that french fried shrimp has a battered tail so you can pick up the shrimp and eat it. But shrimp tails on my sandwich, I do not understand. Is this a thing here?
The breading was good and not greasy. The photos I have posted here are taken after I pulled the tails off the shrimp.
I also ordered a starter of sweet potato fries(8.99) with a wonderful side of curry ranch. Wow! That curry ranch packed a punch. It was delicious. What a wonderful addition to the sweet potato fries. The curry really complimented the fries. Nicely done.
I thought it was a great idea that you order on the right hand side of the door. It is clearly marked and The Hollar doesn’t need to have extra servers. My take-out order was ready when I arrived. It was still warm when I got it home.
