Thai Vegan Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque. There used to be a Thai Vegan in Santa Fe but it closed.
This is the first vegan restaurant I have ever been to. Some of my friends highly recommended it. I wouldn’t have gone if they didn’t recommend it. I am just trying my hand at being a pescatarian. I thought that being vegan is too big a jump for me. But Thai Vegan has really good food. I usually get the lunch combination of spicy noodles with extra vegetables. You have a choice of tofu, soy chicken, pepper steak or soy fish. For an up charge of two dollars, you can get the soy shrimp or soy chicken nuggets. But I just ask to get extra vegetables instead of the tofu or soy products. The lunch combination includes a green salad and 2 fried spring rolls. The lunch combination is served from 11 to 2:30. It is $8.95. If you order after 2:30 it is $9.95.
Believe me these spicy noodles are really spicy, in a good way. There are lots of vegetables like carrots, onion, mushrooms, red and green peppers. The noodles are flat and wide. The salad has fresh lettuce with a large cucumber slice as well as a slice of tomato. The spring rolls are never greasy. I enjoy them. I pick up my takeout on my way out of town. Thai Vegan is east of I 25 on Osuna.
The Thai Vegan website is a little out of date. The Thai Vegan Restaurant closed in Santa Fe. A note on the fron window of the Osuna location announced that they are not affiliated with the Thai Vegan Restaurant in Nob Hill, Albuquerque. But the website does have Thai Vegan’s extensive menu.
