Sadly, I read in today’s Santa Fe New Mexican, the Santa Fe Bite will be closing on Oct 26, 2018. I’m going back before they close. They will be greatly missed. When we were tourists, we were introduced to the Bobcat Bite Restaurant by some friends of ours that lived here. It was out of town on the way to El Dorado. It was a small place that only served burgers. This was back when I ate hamburgers. Bobcat Bite always had the best burgers. They were juicy and wonderful. I think I ate my last hamburger here.
Now it is now called Santa Fe Bite. The current menu is more extensive than Bobcat Bite was. Santa Fe Bite is located in Garrett’s Desert Inn. It is one of the few restaurants in town that you can park for free during the day.
We had beet burgers while our friend had the best burger ever. Her words not ours. She was thrilled. We thought our beet burgers were pretty darn good, too. I can’t resist the sweet potato fries while my better half had the quinoa salad. I asked for everything pickles, lettuce, tomato and of course green chile. The green chile had an upcharge but it was worth it. Our dinner was delicious!
